NEVADA INVENTORS
ASSOCIATION

Hi Katie,
Please forgive the late reply to your query to Nevada Inventors Association. Mostly my computer has been down and
I've been very busy. But I never ignore letters from inventors, or about inventors. They're too important not to
be a high priority. I truly hope my delay hasn't hurt you in any way. Well, I don't know about any George Kellogg,
or Chris Kellogg, but here was an inventor by the name of Dr. John Harvey Kellogg who, along with his brother Will,
invented "Corn Flakes" in 1898, here in the USA. He invented it for the convalescent patients in a health
clinic he owned at Battle Creek, Michigan. J.H. Kellogg is credited with the first person to make a cereal out
of grains, and his idea gave birth to the giant industries we know today as the "Breakfast Food Industry."
There is an hour long documentary video on the invention of cereal by Dr. Kellogg. And it can be found in most
University Libraries where they store their video collection for rental. I don't know where you live, but try to
get to the local University Library and ask for the video under the name Kellogg. I think you'll find it very interesting.
I saw it on PBS a couple years ago, and I thought it was a fascinating story about Kellogg and his invention.
Sorry I'm late getting back to you Katie,
but I hope this helps,
Don Costar,
founder,
Nevada Inventors Association
