Dear Ms. Calloway,

I recieved your e-mail -- forwarded to me to answer. There are things you can do to protect yourself, and to get started, without spending any money. First, you should not EVER answer any 800 numbers off TV or radio, or from the back of magazines until you are more knowledgeable and know exactly who you are dealing with. OK? Most of them are scams, and they will ask for money up front. Don't send them any money!

You can visit our website http://www.nevadainventors.org where there is a help letter I posted, and a patent search guide, or send me your mailing address and I will send you the packet of material that will help you get started in the right direction without spending money. I do this for free to help inventors get started. In my letter I will ask you to subscribe to a magazine however, -- "Inventors' Digest" to get a feel for how other inventors talk about their problems and how to solve them. Plus the magazine has an archive of past articles on many subjects. Some of them will be of great help to you. You can go to their website http://www.inventorsdigest.com to subscribe or you can call 1-800-838-8808. It is $27 a year.
